While some can benefit from various credit repair and consoling services, particularly those who have suffered identity theft or make an inordinate number of transactions. Most of us don’t need a super deluxe credit rating monitoring service.
The simple truth is, there is only one official Free Credit Reports service create by the 3 big credit reporting agencies Equifax, Experian and TransUnio, as a convenient centralized service for the consumer.
This service is AnnualCreditReport.com
There are limitations to this free service, the biggest: you don’t actually get the credit score number commonly used by loan officers as the primary guide, credit scores must be purchased from the reporting agencies, you are also entitled to only one report a year, those actively rebuilding their credit score will no doubt need to check the progress of their score improvement more frequently, apparently it’s possible to have delivery of the 1 a year reports from the 3 services staggered at 4 month intervals.
Be sure to read the FTC guide: Building a Better Credit Report

The FTC requests that consumers forward unsolicited emails offering free credit reports to: spam@uce.gov
